Jack Walsh Voiceover: [theme music soundtrack]
I’m a good cop. One of the best. I close cases fast. I get convictions. And then it’s the chair, baby, the chair.
I’m doing the job, a good job. And then she walked in. It was a day like today. Dank, foggy, raining. The kind of weather that makes your bones and blood run cold. She’s a doll, a real fine looker. High class. You can see it the way she dresses, moves her head. The whole package.”
[door opening, high heels walking in]
Daphne de Beauvoir: “Good Afternoon, I am here to request your help. My husband, Howard de Beauvoir was to return two days ago from a business trip. I was told to see you.”
Jack Walsh: “Your name Ma’am?”
Daphne de Beauvoir:“Daphne, Daphne de Beauvoir.”
Det. Allan Redmond: “So when was the last time you saw your husband, Mrs. Beauvoir?”
Daphne de Beauvoir: “That’s ‘de Beauvoir.’ And it was last week. I dropped him off at the train station for his business trip. He was supposed to be home Friday night but he didn’t come home.”
Jack Walsh: “Two days ma’am? Why did you wait?”
