Making the Podcasts
It’s been 15 years since Amber spent an adventurous year in Takoradi, Ghana as an AFS exchange student. It’s been almost 5 years since I first recorded:

The telling of Amber’s story in the form of this multimedia e-book took 5 years, not because her story was long, but because we had an evolving vision that required us to learn the technical skills needed to realize that vision. And some of the digital storytelling technology itself has only recently become readily accessible. I embarrassingly have to admit that I didn’t even know what a podcast was when we started. It was Amber who introduced me to Radio Lab, This American Life and Snap Judgment- our models for what we had envisioned.
